September 29, 2016 - The Positive Alternative Recreation Teambuilding Impact (P.A.R.T.I.) Program would like to extend an invitation for you to attend the San Francisco Bay Area's Year 3 ServiceWorks Launch Event.

Hosted by San Jose City Council Member, Donald Rocha and Chris Horton, President of the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce, the event will take place at the Corinthian Grand Ballroom, on Thursday, October 20, 2016, from 4pm to 5pm. Invited guests include community, civic, education, and corporate leaders as we formally introduce the third and final year of ServiceWorks to Silicon Valley. Executive Director Winston Ashby states, " I approached Chris Horton to get involved because we both had a common interest to connect youth to local companies that believe in mentoring, service and philanthropy".

Service Works is a 3-year national partnership between AmeriCorps, the Citi Foundation, and Points of Light, and it is the nation's largest corporate-funded AmeriCorps VISTA program. ServiceWorks' groundbreaking national program includes the leadership of 225 AmeriCorps VISTAS in conjunction with local nonprofits, city, and county governments in major urban areas across the country in order to use Volunteer Service and Civic Engagement as a strategy to help 25,000 underserved youth and young adults develop the skills they need to prepare for college and careers. ServiceWorks is currently in its third and final year, and Year 3 will be the only year in which ServiceWorks will be operating primarily in the South Bay and Santa Clara County. Your attendance and participation will greatly impact the success of ServiceWorks' final year and the growth and development of the local youth we will be serving.

Concurrent ServiceWorks Launch Events & Host Sites include: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, New York City, St. Louis, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

Our strategic plan is to partner with municipal governments, leverage technology, collaborate across key sectors, and serve as a model for replication and scalability. ServiceWorks provides an in-person experience for youth "Scholars" from low income families to develop leadership and life skills, engage in service learning projects, and have access to mentors. ServiceWorks will be implemented as part of our High Impact activities. The program targets 16-24 year olds who have aspirations to improve their college and/or career readiness. We are excited that the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce is committed to working towards partnering with us to put together a communication event.

We sincerely hope to see you in attendance at this event.
