October 24, 2016 - Dr. James Cushing of KEBF-FM radio in Morro Bay, California, in a discussion about the print and online studies Harvey Kubernik regularly investigates in his work on iconic sixties and seventies music figures and overlooked and rarely documented voices and record label owners, said, "These aren't articles on "oldies" acts. It's not nostalgia if there is new information and insightful, revealing facts on the music recorded, and in the process we discover new voices as well from his journey."

We not only agree, we host the Kubernik's Korner web page, from which we've assembled this update on Harvey's current works, and notes on works in the pipeline as the holiday season begins and we race toward the New Year.

On October 22nd, Richard Lawson, Senior Broadcast Journalist for BBC Radio 5 live arranged for this live interview with Harvey Kubernik regarding Bob Dylan and his recent Nobel Prize award in Literature. N.B. Hear it now, because it is scheduled to be deleted on 30 October, 2016.

Currently, www.cavehollywood.com is displaying Kubernik's articles "Jimi Hendrix Machine Gun: The Fillmore East First Show," and "Motown: Reel and Real." This week, Cave Hollywood will post Harvey's 4,000 word story on the new multi-disc box set on the just released, "Otis Redding Live At The Whisky A Go Go: The Complete Recordings."

Kubernik penned the current cover story in www.recordcollectornews.com magazine on the Beatles' "Revolver" album 50 years on. Later in the week, Kubernik's 4,500 word cover story on just issued "The Stones In Mono" box set graces the cover of Record Collector News magazine and Record Collector News online, and later in the month, follow up with the band's October live dates with Bob Dylan at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California, the annual site of the Coachella Music Festival, which should be online by the end of the month.

Kubernik discussed "Revolver" with host and multi-Sony Award-winning DJ Pete Mitchell for his This Day in Music Radio channel iTunes music podcast. (If you only want to concentrate on Harvey's commentary, slide forward to 12:40 (12 minutes and 40 seconds), into the interview). CLICK HERE TO LISTEN! He was also interviewed by Mitchell for two one -hour broadcasts on Mitchell's This Day In Music Radio channel iTUNES music podcast examining the sixties recording career of the Rolling Stones and the 1965-1975 recordings of Bob Dylan. Those programmes will air in late October or early November.

While we're on the Beatles, Otherworld Cottage is proud to announce its re-release of Kubernik's fascinating trade paperback, "It Was Fifty Years Ago Today THE BEATLES Invade America and Hollywood," along with our own 50th Anniversary DVD Edition of the 1964 crash action featurette "Demo Derby," that played on screens across America with the Beatles "Hard Day's Night." The incredible success of "Demo Derby" earned the seed money for the Pike Productions 1966, widescreen, color, rock music movie, "Feelin' Good," and the restoration of six of that movie's music sequences has been the subject of Otherworld Cottage's press releases for the past six weeks.

Watch for two pieces coming out in the late November – early December issue of Ugly Things Magazine, one on The Turtles and the other on Otherworld Cottage Industries founder Travis Edward Pike.
