October 29, 2016 - Since 1969, the Theatre Historical Society of America (THS) has been dedicated to celebrating the architectural, cultural and social relevance of America's theatres. Today, THS is proud to offer a complimentary copy of their flagship publication, Marquee® to theatre lovers all across the country.

Every quarterly issue of Marquee® features carefully curated articles, stories and more that detail the storied histories of America's greatest theatres. Alongside the stories, original photographs, sketches, artists' renderings and architectural drawings help bring history to life in the eyes of the reader.

Much of the work found inside the pages of Marquee® comes straight from the archives of the Theatre Historical Society of America. THS has been building up its vast archive collection since its early years of existence. Currently, the collection is home to over 100,000 items documenting over 18,000 theatres in America – making it the largest holding of its kind.

The collection features thousands of photographs, negatives, slides, postcards, scrapbooks, books, periodicals, business records, architectural drawings, supplier & trade catalogs, original theatre furnishings, usher uniforms and numerous other items relating to the cultural and social significance of the American theatre.
At Theatre Historical Society of America, we believe that the stories and histories that fill some of America's most famous theatres are intangible, yet unmistakable. It's our goal to celebrate the rich heritage of not only the historic buildings, but also the notable and irreplaceable piece of the community a theatre represents.
We believe that future generations deserve the opportunity to experience their unique presence, and to learn more about them through our archives and our flagship publication, Marquee®. See for yourself how the curated collection of articles, photographs and drawings in every issue can both educate and inform theatre lovers by claiming your complimentary copy at http://historictheatres.org/marquee
