3,000 Year Old Backgammon Set Found Buried Beneath Rubble

(PRLEAP.COM) When two young boys from the small village of Malaweh discovered what appeared to be a toy, hidden in rubble in their small village, they had no idea that they had stumbled upon what appears to be possibly the oldest backgammon set in history.

After taking the board game home and beginning to play, their mother noticed something unusual with the set. “It appeared to be very old. Definitely something you don’t see every day around these parts,” stated Dina Habibwi. “I went to a neighbor’s house. They have connections in these parts and know someone who has access to the Internet. Pictures were soon discovered of similar sets that dated back a thousand years. However, after speaking to an archeologist friend of mine, I soon learnt that the set my boys had found could have been as old as 3,000 years.”

“This kind of discovery is fascinating” commented Joe Laurence, VP of Marketing for www.free-backgammon-games.com. “It’s a great historical find and proves the durability of the game of backgammon. Here we are today trying to market the sophisticated online version of this popular board game and it appears that the popularity of this game is even beyond our comprehension. 3,000 years ago this was a game of kings and princes. May this legendary game once again find its rightful place sitting on the laptops of royalty!”

The 3,000 year old board game is now the property of Laurence Media http://www.laurencemedia.com. “This ancient treasure will be given to experts to be restored to its former condition. Depending on the restoration effort, we will then make the antique available for public viewing.” commented David Michaels, President of www.free-backgammon-games.com and VP of Business Development for Laurence Media (http://www.laurencemedia.com).
