June 21, 2017 - 1st July is marked as the first day of a new Rotaract year (2017-18) which also is the World Doctor's Day. Merging the two important dates, Rotaract Mumbai initiates its annual Mega Blood Donation drive across Mumbai and Palghar districts with multiple associations like SBTC, Nair Hospital, Jaslok Hospital and many more blood banks.

'Rotaract' in Mumbai is one of the most active youth organization in and around South East Asia, is entering its Golden Jubilee Year. Being strong believers of Peace, Harmony and Community welfare across the city, we intend to develop the youth professionally and encourage sustainability.

Over 1000 individuals from 100 clubs from across the territory will be engaged in volunteering between 8am until 6.00pm and assist the medical experts in the blood collection process. The aim is not just to collect maximum Blood bottles for the future help of Society, but also educate the donors the importance of collection and how the blood saves lives of the many in need.

Commenting on this initiative, incoming District Rotaract Representative Rtr. Om Chawla says, "Rotaract in Mumbai is an institution in itself which teaches you practical know how of what we have learned in colleges. Associating with the Rotary and SBTC, enhances our credibility amongst the corporates, family and friends. Blood is always in demand at the hospitals for different purposes. Considering the World Doctor's Day, we thought of merging our initiative with a cause. I appeal to all who can donate, do come to one of the centres and donate."

Trained representatives and doctors from the blood banks will conduct the actual donation process at these camps at Colleges, Railway stations including Borivali, Andheri, Churchgate, CST, Sion, etc.
Rotaract Mumbai requests each and every resident to support the initiative and participate in this Mega drive. Donating blood is not only a feel good factor for the donor, but you also save a life of someone in case of emergency! You do not need to be a Doctor to save lives, be a donor ad you can save lives too!
