Rahul Shetty has been awarded the first prize under the faculty of Medicine, University Laval,Quebec,Canada for his idea at the 4th Edition of Ideas contest.

At the 4th Edition of Idea contest which was organized by the University Laval, Entrepreneurial Department.Rahul Shetty’s Project has won the first prize in the Medicine Department. A Total of 126 ideas from different faculties of University were submitted. These projects were analyzed for the potential for future success. Amongst the project submitted in Department of Medicine: Rahul Shetty Project has won the first prize. The 4th edition of the Contest had entries form 12 different countries.

The prize was awarded by Mr. Marc-Andre Richer, MBA, director regional, Quebec, BMO-Bank of Montréal in presence of Mr. Michel Pigeon, rector of University Laval.

Says Dr Shetty "Technology should be beneficial for the masses and not just restricted to classes”. The idea will empower professionals and also general public to have better understanding of the health issues in today’s world.

Cardiac diseases are the No 1 killer in developed countries today. There is a inadequate understanding of the Cardio vascular disease process. The Technology will be beneficial in better understanding of the cardiovascular physiology for general public and thereby have improved health outcomes in the future.

The prize has helped in further developing the validity of the project and hopefully commercial success in years ahead.
