Intrafocus announces the availability of a KPI Library
The purpose of the library is not to publish every conceivable KPI. In fact, Intrafocus goes to great lengths to explain that to be competitive, organisations need to come up with their own KPIs and relate them directly to their goals and objectives.
"We have always been of the view that it is a mistake to select KPIs from lists that other people have produced," Says Clive Keyte, Director at Intrafocus. "to be competitive, your goals and objectives need to be unique and therefore your KPIs will be unique as well"
"However, there are clearly some things that you simply have to measure," continues Keyte "things like Revenue, Profit, Customer Satisfaction, Time to Market or Employee Satisfaction. No scorecard would be complete without these."
Intrafocus' aim is to provide a KPI Library of the Top 20 KPIs that come up time and time again. They believe that from the list, five to ten 'standard' KPIs will always be included in a scorecard. So it is important to have a consistent description, calculation and an example of usage. Intrafocus believe that KPIs should be used in conjunction with a strategic process like the Balanced Scorecard methodology. KPIs are not simply measures, they are indicators of strategic success
For those people who have just started on a KPI journey or who have decided to radically change their approach, Intrafocus has provided two supporting document to accompany the KPI Library. The first is an e-book entitled "How to Develop Meaningful KPIs" and the second is a long list of existing KPIs split out into common sectors.
