The ArcaMax Book Club, the newest section of the ArcaMax Publishing Web site, was named Cool Site of the Day for Feb. 8.

The Book Club, which can be found at http://www.arcamax.com/cgi-bin/news/channel/1049 , offers over 400 classic books to read online. Subscribers to this free service can choose as many books as they like, and receive one chapter a day by e-mail. Readers also have the option of reading ahead on the Web site, and "resetting" their subscription to pick up where they left off the next day.

"There's been a definite positive response to the Book Club," says Hugh Spain, Managing Editor of ArcaMax Publishing. "Our subscribers appreciate the opportunity to finally read these books for free, as well as the ease of reading them that our service provides."

The ArcaMax Book Club not only makes books available online, but also offers a variety of information on the titles offered. Interested readers can find out more about the featured authors through short biographies offered on the site. A new Editor's Pick, featuring a popular book from the ArcaMax library, is posted each week. Author and book quizzes are available for visitors who want to test their knowledge of their favorite books. Each subscriber also receives a free weekly Book Club ezine (e-mail newsletter), featuring an author of the week, author birthdays, and new quizzes.

The Book Club has been recognized by Cool Site of the Day, an awards program begun in 1994. All featured sites are eligible to be named Cool Site of the Year, which is decided by the number of votes each site receives on the day it is featured.

"Being Cool Site of the Day is an honor in itself," Spain adds. "We know our readers will want to get behind us and help the Book Club get more recognition, and we definitely appreciate that."
