TEAM and Kharkov Polytechnic Instititute (KhPI) are about to sign an agreement which will permit KhPI students to participate in internships at TEAM International, the Ukrainian branch of TEAM Information Services.

KhPI’s Career Center, “Perspektiva”, aims to provide their students with jobs and/or professional training at leading Ukrainian companies. The career center has been functioning for almost 5 years now and enjoys an advantage over other, similar organizations due to a grant from USAID (United States Agency of Internal Development) to support educational and training projects in countries of the former USSR. The partnership with “Perspektiva” is of great importance for TEAM. In September, 2005, high level representatives from TEAM (Matt Moore, Principal) and “Perspektiva” (Eugene Soko, Vice-Rector) met to discuss short- and long-term cooperation between KhPI and TEAM. By October, 2005, the draft of an agreement had been prepared and the leaders of both organizations began a series of meetings to iron out the details.

As a result of these meetings, an agreement of cooperation will be signed in mid-February. The internship program at TEAM International for KhPI students is planned to consist of from 3 to 6 months of training for 4th year students. During this time, the students will take part in current projects at TEAM International which will contribute to their gaining practical knowledge and skills working on an IT team. In the near future, TEAM and KhPI plan to look at arranging training for KhPI teachers as well, allowing them to stay current with the latest in information technology and business applications.
