VALENTINE’S DAY RESERVATION CRUNCH
Council President Urges Foresight for Nation’s Second Busiest Dining Night

Tucson, AZ-If you’re thinking about taking that someone special out for a romantic dinner on Valentine’s Day, you should make your reservations now, according to Don Luria, President of the Council of Independent Restaurant of America (CIRA). “Valentine’s Day is second to only Mother’s Day in dining popularity,” said Luria, “and, to make sure you won’t be disappointed, I recommend calling your favorite restaurant at least a week in advance.” Luria added that the restaurants that are best-known for their romantic atmosphere are the first to be booked solid for the February 14th celebration.

“It’s all couples; you don’t get many large parties on Valentine’s Day. Many of our member restaurants encourage a romantic evening out with complimentary long-stemmed roses, sparkling wine and sinfully delicious chocolate dessert items,” added Luria. “The extra attention creates a festive, memorable evening.”

CIRA, also known by the brand name, DineOriginals™, has eighteen Chapters across America. From Albuquerque to New Hampshire, Twins Cities to Nashville, Kansas City to Cleveland and wherever an Originals Chapter has formed, Cupid’s arrow is bound to find its target.

“Every year, as far back as I can remember, at least one couple gets engaged here,” said Michael Klauber, co-owner of Sarasota, FL restaurant, Michael’s on East, and President of the Sarasota-Manatee Originals. “We have one couple who celebrates their Valentine’s Day anniversary with us every year. They have a standing 8PM reservation with us until 2025—-their Silver anniversary,” laughed Klauber.
