"We're continuing in our 14th season of humor at the expense of popular culture," says Laughing Gas Director Gerald Owens. "The Academy Awards makes a great target for us to lampoon."

"I like that we're doing a show about the Academy Awards," says cast member Valerie Zach. "It's as close as I can get to Jon Stewart without violating the restraining order."

"We would all want to be the ones being honored in Hollywood," says cast member Todd Rice. "But we're not, so we're going to poke fun at the ones who are."

Laughing Gas has earned a reputation as the top culturally relevant troupe in South Florida, having performed shows to "Improv The Vote", "Improv-ing The Community" for charities and themed shows on topics of the day. Laughing Gas has been picked as a Social Miami "Pick of the Week" several times for their themed shows and is regularly recognized for its socially relevant material. Laughing Gas was also recently honored as Best Short-Form Improv Troupe in Miami Dade County at the Improv Miami Prizes.
