The Year I Was Bullied is a story about persistent bullying throughout the author's life. It includes the years he was bullied from elementary school through high school. Carl Gravely wants his readers to not be scared to tell an adult if they are getting bullied, because people will listen and there are people who will help in any way they can.

Carl Gravely describes himself as a scenarist or a screenwriter. He loves creating new stories in movies, TV shows, plays, and musical scripts. The character in his book of Joe Brown is his real-life brother and Meagan Brown is his real-life sister-in-law. Currently, he is a cap team 1 stocker at Wal-Mart in North Carolina.
