Vacuum Authority Introduces Sewing Machines to Stores in Louisville and Clarksville

After introducing sewing machine repair services in April 2017, Vacuum Authority is excited to announce their expansion into the sewing machine market with new machines offered at the company's Preston Highway and Clarksville, Indiana store. Vacuum Authority is featuring sewing machines by some of the best brands in the sewing market including Brother, Janome and Elna Swiss.

Company President Russell Gay decided to re-enter into the sewing machine market in part due to requests from current customers. "While offering sewing machine repair services successfully for over a year, we've heard time and again from customers how much they'd like to see us also offer new sewing machines. After a considerable amount of planning and research, we decided to make the move. You can try before you buy at our store, and I think people like that. Plus, we also offer a range of machines including options for beginners, intermediate sewers and those with advanced skills."

Russell Gay's family started Moore's Sewing & Vacuum Centers in 1983 and he ran their largest location until leaving to start the Oreck Stores of Kentucky & Indiana with his father. "Returning to the Sewing Industry is something that simply feels like coming home." He feels there is a great appreciation for the crafts and many facets in and surrounding the sewing industry that value a quality customer experience that his team excels in.

"Interestingly, we came to realize that sewing machines are really a natural fit for our stores. Our vacuum cleaner customers tend to appreciate high quality products and we've found people who enjoy sewing, quilting and embroidering tend to share this interest in quality and craftsmanship."

In order to effectively launch the Sewing Center at Vacuum Authority, the company hired talented technician Eddie Meredith, previously with Moore's Sewing Center before they went out of business (following the path of other favorite local sewing stores including Baer and Hancock Fabrics). They are hiring talented teachers and setting up an interesting and fun class and event schedule for Fall 2018.

The company's line of new sewing machines is displayed in Vacuum Authority's spacious new Okolona location situated at 8118 Preston Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40219 (going south towards Blue Lick Road on the right) and at its long standing 914 Eastern Boulevard Clarksville, Indiana locations. The long term plan is for new machines to be available in other area locations as well.

Similar to the company's guarantees on vacuum cleaners and other home products, customers purchasing a new sewing machine at Vacuum Authority will receive an exclusive warranty on parts and labor (see stores for details). Additionally, the Vacuum Authority offers free sewing lessons with any sewing machine purchase.

Future plans for Vacuum Authority's Sewing Center include introducing more top sewing brands as well as an ongoing schedule of classes based on customer interest and demand. Customers are also allowed to upgrade within one year of purchase and to trade in old machines for store credit to put towards new ones.

Vacuum Authority's sewing machine repair service continues to be offered at store locations across Louisville and in Clarksville, Indiana as well. Experienced repair techs fix every sewing machine make and model, regardless of where it was purchased including Singer, Brother, Janome, JUKI, Bernina, Pfaff and Tacony.

Vacuum Authority is a family-owned business launched in 1983 when Russell Gay's parents started their retail careers. Along with being founded on giving customers a memorable customer service experience, Vacuum Authority was built on serving the local community with expert advice and service on vacuums, air purifiers, heaters, portable air conditioners, central vacuums, carpet and floor care products, plus much more.

Over the last decade, the company has grown substantially to include 7 store locations across Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia. While the service areas and products have changed over the last 30 years, one thing has remained the same: the commitment to providing customers with exceptional service and quality products at a fair price.
