February 14, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
The U.S. Work at Home Directory, which specializes in finding work at home jobs for its clients, has discovered that West Eco Company is trafficking in stolen goods. West Eco hires Shipping Managers to work from their homes. They are advertising at several reputable online job sites, and were advertising at careerbuilders.com until recently. Duties consist of receiving packages, warehousing them briefly, and then mailing them overseas. The contents of the packages are primarily digital cameras, PDA's, and electronics. The packages are shipped to Kryzykstan.

West Eco, who claims to have over 2000 employees in the United States, instructs their employees not to open the packages. The U.S. Work at Home Directory, after examining the contents of these packages, and contacting parties on the invoices, has discovered that these items were purchased with stolen credit cards. Denver FBI has stated that this scam is a variation of the 10-year-old Nigerian scam. In addition to trafficking in stolen goods, West Eco is also turning their employees into victims of identity theft. The company has been reported to local authorities and the Internet Crime Complaint Center…an FBI - NW3c Partnership: http://www.ic3.gov. West Eco Company is still online and continues to recruit. West Eco is not responding to requests for information.

The U.S. Work at Home Directory has at no time recommended this scam to its clients.
