Poet Anastasia Clark to appear at Alvin Sherman Library, NSU Campus
(PRLEAP.COM) ANASTASIA CLARK, poet, announces she will be one of four featured writers at an authors event- hosted by Alvin Sherman Library (Nova Southeastern University) Ft. Lauderdale, FL on Saturday April 22, 2006, from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Readers and aspiring writers are invited to attend.
Clark will be reading from a variety of her books published by Sun Rising Poetry Press, including Grieving With Poetry- poems written after the death of her parents, Bloodsongs- poetry about women’s issues, Skeletons and Other Complaints- poetry about life’s challenges, Vagabond Pond- poems about being or feeling like a vagabond, and Petticoat Poems- poetry celebrating the spicier side of life. After the reading, there will be a Question and Answer period. She will also be autographing books.
Clark (Moore) grew up in Framingham, MA, where she served as Poet-In-Residence to the Framingham Public Schools during 1977-78. She served in the U. S. Marine Corps and also completed a Master of Science in Administration. She currently resides in Miramar, FL.
Her work has appeared in numerous literary magazines: Outsider Ink, Sunpiper Press Literary Review, Penwomanship, The Ultimate Hallucination, Ascent, Wilmington Blues, VOiCE, Scrivener’s Pen, Spillway Review, Subtletea and Adagio Verse Quarterly. Her poem “Old Volcanoes,” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. During 2001-2003 Clark served as Poetry Editor and Poetry Columnist for Epiphany Magazine: a celebration in writing.
Clark has recently appeared at Borders Bookstores for book signings and was also featured in an article by Eileen Soler, The Miami Herald in October 2005.
In addition to the full-length titles listed above, Clark is also the author of the POETRY PETALS collection- which is also published by Sun Rising Poetry Press. The themed booklets are designed for gift and floral baskets and feature vibrant cover art by Donette Smock. Some of the titles include Healing Poems, Inspirational Poems, Romantic Poems, Nostalgic Poems and Humorous Poems.
To find the NSU library, take I-595 to the University Drive exit. Go south to SW 30th. Turn left on SW 30th, and continue east approximately a quarter mile, past the Miami Dolphins Training Facility on your right. The north campus entrance and parking garage, with metered parking, will be on your right, on Ray Ferrero, Jr., Blvd. The Alvin Sherman Library, which is the largest building on the NSU campus, is near the east end of the garage.
