As Lithuanians the world over celebrate their homeland’s National Day on February 16th, leading web translation company Lingo24 is also marking the day by launching a month-long focus on Lithuania. The language service provider’s website (www.lingo24.com) will include a guide to doing business with this relatively new EU member, featuring information about the country, its industries and its people.

Lingo24’s guide to business in Lithuania (http://www.lingo24.com/international_business_intelligence/lithuania.html) will look at the different types of industry which thrive there, as well as offering more general advice for people who hope to develop business interests in this part of Europe. In conjunction with their guide to Lithuania, Lingo24 has also announced that the company will offer a 10% discount on all translations from English into Lithuanian until the 16th of March (http://www.lingo24.com/language/Lithuanian_translation_services.html)

Christian Arno, MD of Lingo24, explains: “Many of our clients would relish the opportunity to do more business in the extended EU, but are not necessarily familiar with the key industries and cultural backgrounds of the new member states.” He adds: “Lithuanian National Day seemed an appropriate time to help would-be exporters to Lithuania find out more about the country and encourage them to get publicity material, technical documents or commercial letters translated into Lithuanian. Our guide to Lithuania even includes a few phrases to get the more linguistically adventurous off to a flying start!”

This is the first in a series of complimentary bulletins designed to brief executives interested in expanding their businesses internationally. Further similar guides are planned for 2006, and will form an integral part of the new International Business Intelligence section on Lingo24’s website (http://www.lingo24.com/international_business_intelligence/index.html). Each report will focus on a different country and will include useful background information for organisations keen to initiate or expand international trade links with that country.
