The Ski Skoot is the world’s first kick scooter that converts from “wheels-to-skis” in 5 seconds, then back to wheels again in another 5 seconds. Adults and kids can ride it in the street and snow. It’s the only “all-season, all-weather” scooter. Visit www.SkiSkoot.com for product photos, 2-min. demo video, and list of current retail outlets.

On the Wednesday, February 15, 2006 broadcast of The Today Show from the Torino Winter Olympics, Katie got an explanation and demonstration of the Ski Skoot “wheels-to-skis” scooter from Paul Hochman, Today Show gear editor, contributing editor for Men’s Journal, and ski test director for Ski magazine. Paul was effusive in his praise of what he called a “real cool” product — the Ski Skoot.

Katie, never one to like going fast on the snow, asked Paul how fast the Ski Skoot zipped down the mountain. Paul said, “Pretty fast.” However, he also pointed out to Katie that the Ski Skoot comes equipped with a heavy-duty rear foot brake, so that the rider can control their speed at all times and stop easily. He demonstrated the Ski Skoot’s brake for her and the television viewing audience.

The Ski Skoot is fairly new to market, having been introduced in fall, 2004. It was developed in a surburban garage outside Seattle, Washington by two “tinkerer” dads whose kids had kick scooters, but no way to use them in winter.

The Ski Skoot scooter is a high-quality, aircraft-grade aluminum kick scooter with wheelie bar, special brake, and extra safety locks. It is taller, more featured, and carries more rider weight than many other scooter brands that are sold in stores.

The patented snap-on/snap-off snow ski attachment for the scooter is made of lightweight, ultra-tough polyethylene with a big, spring-loaded foot brake.
