First study on Service Parts Logistics in China

February 24, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Munich/Shanghai – February 24, 2006 – In China, a growing number of companies in the technology sector is clamoring to enter international markets. Gaining a share of these markets is exclusively for companies that continue meeting international service standards. This includes, for example, being able to provide service parts rapidly and on a global scale. The question is whether a central stock of service parts is in keep-ing with the times, or whether it is more efficient and economic to set up a network of decentralized stores. The first joint study carried out by Barkawi, DHL, and the China Supply Chain Council provides the answer to this and many other questions about Service Parts Logistics in China.
The aim of the investigation is to work out the market-specific standards and requirements for China in the field of After Sales Logistics. To this end, the strategies of the individual companies are compared. At the same time, this gives insight into global trends and new developments. The results of the study will be presented in Shanghai on March 29. On the basis of the study’s results, it will be possible to analyze After Sales Logistics strategies in an international context, and to work out solutions for achieving optimization. Any interested companies can take part in the study until mid-March at www.supplychain.cn or contact Barkawi via xiaozhen.xie@barkawi.com. All information will be kept anonymous and will not be passed on to third parties.
