Jane Garvey, former head of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) joins SpectraSensors Board

SpectraSensors, Inc., a high technology spin-off of the NASA/Caltech Jet Propulsion Laboratory, announced that Jane F. Garvey, former 14th Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has joined the SpectraSensors board of directors. Garvey led an organization of 50,000 FAA employees and with a $13 billion annual budget, regulated and oversaw the country’s aviation safety and air traffic management system. In addition to successfully navigating the FAA through the Y2000 transition, she implemented risk management throughout the aviation community to improve safety while expanding air traffic control capacity and capabilities.

Currently, Garvey is Executive Vice President of APCO Worldwide and Chairmen of the firm's transportation practice where she provides senior strategic counsel to APCO clients globally, covering topics from government relations to policy to communications advice.
