Singapore, February 24, 2006 — Web consultants Digital Boomerang http://www.digitalboomerang.com are delighted with the launch of the revamped business.gov.sg website, the EnterpriseOne Portal http://www.business.gov.sg. The portal is a multi-agency initiative managed by SPRING Singapore.

SPRING’s goal was to provide businesses with a usable portal to obtain essential Government information in an understandable format. Digital Boomerang’s quest to build user-driven and user-friendly websites, and its commitment to understanding the needs of small and medium enterprises (SME), ensured this goal was met.

“SPRING was wonderfully committed to the project and we were fortunate to work with such a dedicated team. Being an SME ourselves, it was a pleasure to create something that was for SMEs, and that involved working with other SMEs to get the best result,” said Charlotte Ong, Digital Boomerang’s Co-Founder.

As the EnterpriseOne Portal consultant, content developer and designer, Digital Boomerang helped to create a single portal that SMEs can turn to for up-to-date government-related information and services for businesses. SMEs interested in Government help schemes, for example, can now more easily learn about what schemes are available and how to apply for them, using the site’s QuickFind search function and more than 50 How-To Guides.

The website has been written in simple, conversational language that anyone interested in starting or growing their business can understand. There are thousands of frequently asked questions catering to different needs. Case stories, through interviews with various SMEs, provide useful lessons on how other businesses have made themselves successful.

“You won’t need to understand difficult business jargon or sift through dozens of different web sites to find what applies to your business. It’s a portal that we could have used when we first started our own business. We hope SMEs find the portal useful and relevant and will use it as a starting point when looking for government information related to their business,” said Digital Boomerang’s Co-Founder, Pamela Chng.

As part of the project, Digital Boomerang worked with experts to run usability tests with over 200 SMEs for their feedback on what they were seeking in a Government business portal. The team also collaborated with some 34 Government agencies, chambers of commerce and industry associations to develop the content.
