LIVING ROOT DRAGON BOAT ANNOUNCES NEW LINE OF CAFEPRESS APPAREL AND GIFTS

Boston, Massachusetts — Living Root Dragon Boat (“LRDB”), a competitive Boston dragon boat club, is proud to announce the release of a new line of Cafepress apparel and gifts! Visit http://www.cafepress.com/lrdb and shop today!

Each item is designed with the stylized logo of the club using the Chinese character for "life". Our logo was designed by May-Lynn Chang.

In 2005, LRDB received sponsorship from an anonymous energy drink manufacturer, LäraBar, Lee Technical Athletics, Robinson & Cole LLP, Stacy’s Pita Chip Company, and TsingTao. For 2006, LRDB received new sponsorship from Deloitte & Touche USA LLP and Fong & Kaston, LLP.

The team needs $40,000 over two years to help train and equip its members including the purchase of a state-of-the-art 41’-long fiberglass dragon boat. The club is seeking sponsors and other partnership relationships to meet these financial goals as well as to develop a dragon boat youth program.

LRDB is holding indoor winter training sessions at the John F. Kennedy School near Porter Square at 5 Cherry Street, Somerville, Massachusetts on Thursdays 7:15 PM – 9:00 PM and Saturdays 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM. To schedule a trial practice, interested candidates should contact Bob Lee at Bob.Lee@livingroot.org or 617-413-8360. No prior experience is required. Candidates possessing athleticism and good overall fitness, or prior experience with triathlons, basketball, volleyball, rugby, football, soccer, running, crew, rowing, sculling, swimming, paddling, canoeing, outrigger, or kayaking are also invited to join the team.

In September 2005, LRDB also won First Place in the Tiger Division at the Pawtucket Dragon Boat Race and Second Place in the C Division at the Hartford Dragon Boat Race.
