The Tuscan estate of award-winning Italian film director Armando Manni is proud to announce that his extraordinary extra virgin olive oils have been selected for inclusion in the official 78th Annual Academy Awards ® Gift Basket. All presenters, performers and VIPs will receive a box of Manni Oils that includes a bottle of Per me (“For Me”), for adult gourmets, and a bottle of Per Mio Figlio (“For My Child”) for children, as part of the official gift basket at the Academy Awards® Ceremony on Sunday, March 5th 2006.

"I am thrilled to be included in the Academy Awards ® Gift Baskets," says Armando Manni. "The selection of Manni Oils Per Me and Per Mio Figlio by the Academy for inclusion in the official Oscar gift baskets is truly a compliment to the quality of my extra virgin olive oils."

In addition to the box of Manni Oil (containing one bottle of Per Me and one bottle of Per Me Figlio) in each Oscar gift basket, recipients will receive additional boxes of Manni Oil (each box contains one bottle of Manni Per Me and Per Me Figlio oil) throughout the year with a total value of $550. The price of one box of Manni Oil (containing one bottle of Per Me and one bottle of Per Me Figlio) is $50.

The Manni Oils are already being served at such top restaurants as La Pergola, in Rome, Locanda Locatelli in London, Maison Troisgros in France and in the U.S., at Charlie Trotter’s, Chicago; Daniel, N.Y.; The French Laundry, Napa Valley and Per Se, New York.

Inspired by the birth of his son, Manni set out to create the perfect extra virgin olive oil, a mission that would result in the unique combination of luxury and science. To do so he partnered with Italy’s top researchers from the Department of Pharmaceutical Science at the University of Florence, Italy. They chose a rare variety of olive grown high on Monte Amiata in Southern Tuscany. Due to the special processing methods, the results represent a revolution in olive oil production and quality (Manni oils contain the highest quantity of antioxidants available to consumers), and are so impressive that the Manni label bears the endorsement from the University.

Manni’s particular method creates a “live oil”, meaning an oil that is still intact when the consumer breaks the seal on the bottle and to use only about 30–35% of the amount you would use of another oil. The oils are analyzed every four months and the data is published on a website so consumers always know what they are eating. Manni, with his product, strives for goodness, safety and health.

The Manni box set of oils are available directly from the Tuscan estate to the consumer’s door by express courier. Shipments are sent via air freight in pressure and temperature controlled packaging.
