LOS ANGELES — Kids aren’t the only ones who get to race canoes, shoot bows and arrows, hike, swim, and enjoy S’mores around the campfire. Women also flock to summer camp. The attraction beyond the standard? Massages, facials, manicures, yoga, feminars, chatting for hours with friends, even napping – AND no makeup, no men, no stress, no chores, no kids… no kidding!

Women of all ages have found a magical place where they get away from it all for 48 hours called “Camp GetAway.” They come from all across the country in search of the small luxuries busy women don't usually get: a break from the hassles of home and office.

2006 is Camp GetAway’s tenth year providing much-deserved “me time” in the mountains near Big Bear, CA.

Camp’s 2006 weekends are June 2-4 and October 6-8. Cost is $295 per person ($275 for early bird registration); additional modest fees for craft supplies (yes, you still make cool things at camp) and spa treatments.
