No Computer Should Go To Waste

In the United States during the 2003 holiday shopping season more than four million computers were purchased by consumers. While many keep their older systems in use, millions of computers are stockpiled in closets, attics, garages, and basements.

As new technology replaces old, consumers and businesses are discovering that older computers can be refurbished and reused to the benefit of nonprofit organizations everywhere. To a developing nonprofit, these computers are vital, often having years of useful life.

A recent survey revealed that most respondents are unaware of donation options for used computers, and a similar survey suggests consumers prefer to donate their used technology to a worthy cause.

Www.Recycles.Org and the Nonprofit Recycling and Reuse Network help facilitate the donation of used computers and office electronics through connecting donors and nonprofit organizations across America and around the world.

"We want to encourage consumers not to stockpile their used electronics, but to keep their equipment working through donating directly to a nonprofit organization in need," said Charles DiBella, developer of the network.

"Many of the groups involved in our network will pick-up a donation, sort through the parts, test, build, and repair machines, and then recycle all the unusable parts in an environmentally friendly way," DiBella added.

The Nonprofit Recycling and Reuse Network is comprised of over 200 registered nonprofit organizations and is growing daily. To donate your used equipment to a nonprofit group, visit http://Www.Recycles.Org
