Orlando, FL, December 14, 2004, Spike TV's 2nd Annual "Video Game Awards 2004 and the host, Hip hop performance artist Snoop Dogg, set the stage as Media Evolutions partners in an extravagant show design premiering LIVE from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., tonight, Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at 9 PM ET/8C.

As Media Evolutions provides additional content creation, integration, and live show screen formatting, they also provide the show programming and playback systems (with the 7 Green Video Playback systems feeding the content for the 8 screens) with custom transitions to fluidly move from piece to piece, additional content to be made on site, Media Evolutions, partnered with MTV/Viacom's in house content creation crew, as the two implemented the theme and design of the show. Media Evolutions was contracted to work on this awards show because of their working reputation with Greg Sills, Executive Producer, from prior projects (Justin in Memphis, and the Billboard Music Awards). They recently met with Scott Fishman, producer for Spike TV based in Orlando and decided to partner in creation and place their imprint in the Awards show medium.

The stage design, located within the Barker Hanger at the Santa Monica Airport, is that of a city skyline complete with a steel suspension bridge spanning the width of the stage. This location is no stranger to award shows, recently chosen for the Vibe Awards 2004. The set, designed by Bruce Rogers, has a theme, only to be announced at the time of the event. On the stage, there are eight Barco LED, indoor screens, (6, 8 and 10 mil.). The premiered show will utilize further LED technology as the DynaScan LED display, which consists of a rotating arm that has a strip of LED's going down the side that creates a full tubular picture when rotating. Media Evolutions has created content specific for the DynaScans that are located on either side of the stage. The stage is to encompass musical performances, by great acts like SUM 41, Ludacris and First Ever Live Performances by Snoop Dogg featuring Pharrell and a rare performance by metal icons Motley Crue. The entire design is to reflect the video game culture and holds honor for categories and nominees such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Rockstar Games), Halo 2 (Microsoft) and Half-Life 2 (Vivendi Universal Games), which tops this year's nominees list with five nominations each. Spike TV has also announced that in response to the game industry's expanding influence upon popular culture, this year, Spike TV has added new award categories such as "Designer of the Year," and "Best New Technology'.

In the midst of design, Kevin Richard, head animator for Media Evolutions mentioned, "The stage layout by Bruce Rogers lays the groundwork for a new dimension in stage design.' "Combine the talent of Bruce Rogers, Spike TV and the avid gamer, Snoop Dogg, this will take the awards show to a new level. Spike TV, as a network of new latitudes, has given us the ticket to take that design and to freely create content that will only enhance this extravagant stage.' "Last years show, will not compare to what we have created'. The first annual VGA's were hosted by David Spade and held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
