POAG MAHONE’S will alter its usual Monday thru Friday schedule to open its doors to St. Patrick’s Day Parade goers on Saturday, March 11.

The old Chicago style Irish ale house will open at 11:00 am and will serve its gold standard pints of Guinness and popular menu items throughout the day.

Poag’s hamburger has received national acclaim as one of the top 20 hamburgers in the nation from GQ Magazine (July, 2005) and was just honored in a “Best Burgers in America” segment on THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW (February, 2006). The 9 oz. burger is made fresh daily from USDA prime sirloin steak and sells for $5.75.

Chicago’s famed SHANNON ROVERS Irish bagpipe band is scheduled to make an appearance after the parade, at approximately 2:00 pm.

“The place is going to be hopping” says owner Dan Rosenthal. “This is the perfect time for folks who don’t get into the loop that often to have one of America’s best burgers.”

POAG MAHONE’S is located at 333 S. Wells Street, just 7 blocks from the main reviewing stand for the parade. Parade goers taking the EL should get off at either the Quincy or LaSalle Station stop. POAG’S is also just 2 blocks from Metra’s La Salle Street Station and Union Station.

POAG MAHONE’S is owned and operated by The Rosenthal Group, Inc., restaurant developers and managers in Chicago since 1988. The Rosenthal Group also owns and/or manages Trattoria No. 10 (www.trattoriaten.com) and 5 Sopraffina Marketcaffès (www.sopraffina.com).
