ILC DOVER’s SCape® CBRN30 RECEIVES NIOSH APPROVAL. Revolutionary New Respirator Provides Protection from Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Inhalants

This revolutionary new device builds on proven ILC Dover technology in creating military and civilian gas masks, but further extends the filtration capability to protect against common chemical risks; such as, ammonia, chlorine gas, and biological inhalation hazards and materials, such as Anthrax, which may become airborne due to accidental discharge or terrorist activities.

The one-size SCape® CBRN30 has no securing straps, nose cup, or mouth bit; utilizes a positive-flow ventilation system that automatically activates when removed from the package; and can be used by persons with glasses and/or facial hair. Its clear hood with large visor allows the user to perform a wide range of tasks, such as using the phone or other communications devices, and to be more easily recognized while reducing the feelings of claustrophobia. Other features include a comfortable neck seal, blower indicator light, and 5-year shelf life.

“Recent natural disasters, as well as 9/11, have made it clear that we must be proactive rather than reactive, and our new SCape® CBRN30 allows wearers to do just that,” said LeRoy Garey, ILC Dover’s Product Manager for Personal Protection Equipment. “The CBRN30 provides unparalleled protection, is immediate, foolproof, affordable, and comfortable. Our products excel in circumstances where there is no room for error, and we continually seek to provide superior protection to both trained and untrained users.”
