visionapp—news for CeBIT 2006 New visionapp products give Citrix Presentation Server the right kick

March 11, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
The company will be presenting the new (as of February) versions of visionapp Platform Management Suite (vPMS 2006) and visionapp Access Portal (vAP 2006) to the CeBIT audience. Both products are now fully integrated into the visionapp Control Center (vCC), a common administration console, marking the first time that application management and access will be merged into a single framework.

vPMS 2006 incorporates a number of special new features, such as expanded deployment functions. This means that, effective immediately, Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) will also be available as a deployment tool in addition to the expanded in-house deployment mechanism, visionapp Installation Control Manager (vICM). Furthermore, the product includes more than 250 parameter packages specific to terminal server / Citrix, an expanded array of ready-to-use application package templates and new import/export options that optimize automation processes for installation and operation within a Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 environment.

The most important new feature of vAP 2006 is that web server farms are administrated centrally, and therefore more efficiently, from the visionapp Control Center (vCC). This user interface is also used to configure Web Interface and Citrix Secure Gateway, thereby ensuring full support for Citrix Web Interface 3.0 (disconnecting, reconnecting and session roaming). Plus, the new vAP Connector makes it easy to link vAP to alternate portals. An access matrix checks access parameters and displays important and helpful information (web parts, applications, farms).

Developers at visionapp created visionapp Installation Control Manager (vICM) as the perfect complement to their product suite. This robust, powerful software distribution mechanism takes, for example, the problem of management across differing time zones and combines the solution with multi-language support making it easier to manage globally distributed farms.

With this and its new “Partner Model 2006,” visionapp is placing increased importance on expanding its international presence, which it will extend throughout all of Europe and into the United States in 2006. The CitrixSummit06 event in Orlando will allow visionapp, a Citrix Global Alliance Partner, to present its new partner model to interested companies. This model envisions cooperation based on three different levels of partnerships: Business Partner, Enterprise Partner and Consulting Partner.
