March 13, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Travel News
Site enhancements include:
Interactive maps that will allow customers to navigate the website all the way through to booking.
More hotel details to include a picture gallery, an extensive list of facilities, map and directions.
Advanced search options enabling customers to find what they want, where they want and sort their results by star rating, price, location etc.
Geo-coding of all hotels. This means LateRooms will be able to use postcodes to accurately recommend hotels based on customers’ location requirements.
Informative city guides to give customers a mini-guide on particular destinations. Initially this will be for a range of European capital cities (London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Dublin, Belfast, Paris, Rome and Madrid), but will in time include many smaller cities, towns and areas to form extensive destination guides.

How does this benefit the hotelier?

The enhancements are designed to:

allow hoteliers to provide more detailed information on their property.
stimulate more visitors to the site, so generating more bookings - 68% of call centre enquiries convert to bookings. LateRooms already has 40,000 daily visitors searching exclusively for hotel accommodation.
enable Hoteliers to control their rates 24 hours a day, enabling them to sell rooms during difficult periods at the click of a button. All this happens in real time so business can be switched on and off, as when it is needed.
makes it much easier and quicker for customers to find their hotel.

With an 8% look to book ratio – 5 times higher than the industry average – the site is already successful and the site redesign is intended to improve this even further.

The new look site signals the start of a program of enhancements that will see the addition of a number of additional features over the coming months.
