Lacs & Caprices Featuring T.I.
Hometown: Huntsville, AL
Description:
V.S.O.P. III
History:
V.S.O.P.
(Very Special Onetime Performance) was name of a touring group. The musicians in the original V.S.O.P all played on numerous records with each other, sometimes all together, sometimes one or two or three with other musicians. In any form, their albums were always exceptional and the music they made was nothing short of incredible. If the group had remained as a solid and tight unit for a long period of time, VSOP would have undoubtedly be recognized as one of the most influential and finest working groups in history.
V.S.O.P II
was then formed and performed a series of performances. These projects proved tremendous successes and gained the group many prestigious awards.
V.S.O.P III
V.S.O.P.III (Ghi-Ali, Mata, Gunt, J-Sil, T.I., Chico 2000, Dawg, Mali Boi, Peep-Game, Pope, Mr. Marcellus, & Sami Ranks) continues the tradition set by these special group of musicians and saved their first album release for 2006. The single "Lacs and Caprices featuring T.I." has been an underground hit in the South for years, in heavy rotation on BET’s Uncut (Big Body Big Wheels, Big Body Big Wheels, Lac’s and Caprices), raked up nearly 1000 spins, and has been given credibility by many DJ’s by being featured in nearly a dozen mix tapes. The Album however is incomparable to anything you’ve ever heard.
How can you tell that we are from down the Low Down, the All Lovely, the AL? Could it be because your 12z bounce as soon as the first note hits your Cerwin Vegaz? Or is it that the crisp high hats and snares tickle your ears down to the drum? Maybe it’s the reminiscent piano keys that paint pictures of your life or the life you once lived?
Yeah, we’re from the South. It’s no different from where you live. We hustle; we still chase dreams. It’s just that your Benzes and Beamers are our Chevy’s and Lacs. We got pimps. Ours just wear creased jeans and Air Max. And in mouths down here, ice grills are str8 gold.
Slow Motion means that while the whole world is racing by at 100 mph, we are traveling at a steady 50. Enjoying successful longevity while observing everything along the way-learning from our mistakes.
Enjoy!
