THE 5 F’s in Priorities Faith, Family, Fitness, Friends & Finances: Are Yours in Order?

March 25, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
(Alberta, Canada) - Are you investing your time and money in things
that matter, or will it take a life-threatening illness, a child being
diagnosed with a special need, or another Category 5 hurricane to
make you take a brutally honest look at your priorities?

Determining what’s important and making it a priority – before
tragedy strikes – can help you recover more quickly when you do
encounter a crisis. The process is a lot simpler than you might think.

“A lot of people get caught up in day-to-day life and don’t take time
to define what’s really important,” says Karen Simmons, CEO of
the worldwide, leading organization Autism Today™ and author of
Surrounded by Miracles: How a Circle of Love Saved One Woman’s
Life in 57 Days (Exceptional Resources, Inc., SurroundedByMiracles.com).
“They miss what life’s really all about until something major makes them
stop and think.”

In 1994 Simmons family was told she had a 1% chance to live.
Friends and family were stunned. She’d gone to the hospital for a
routine birth, but instead found herself receiving her last rites.
Over the course of two months, Simmons fought a vicious battle with
illness and finally came out victorious. Her close call with death forced her
and all those close to her to come to terms with the real meaning of life.
Simmons hopes sharing her experience will help others do the same,
without having to undergo such a traumatic ordeal on their own.

Simmons encourages others to focus on making
“The Five F’s” a high priority in their lives:

• Faith
• Family
• Friends
• Fitness
• Finances

If you are not giving priority to these five areas, ask yourself why, and then
seek out ways to give them precedence. That way, when a crisis hits, you
will find yourself better equipped to face whatever comes your way.
