JCTV Debuts Exciting New Reality Show on Rising Christian Rock Band

Just ask Pivitplex, one of contemporary Christian music’s most exciting acts in recent years? Better yet, why not watch “Pivitplex,” the new weekly reality show that debuted in early March on the faith-based youth and music network JCTV. The show follows the trials and triumphs of the band as its members pursue God’s call to minister as contemporary Christian musicians.
“This exciting new series allows viewers to be a part of the band’s journey,” said Tammi Weed of AristoMedia Group, the band’s PR firm. “It's an inside look at the real life and times of a Christian rock band as they struggle to make a living at what they know God has called them to do.”
It all boils down to the hard work of balancing faith, family, friendships, and career, just like other Christians – only on a tour bus face to face with band mates 24-7. “There’s no doubt it’s challenging, but it can also make for some entertaining television,” said Weed.
In reality Pivitplex isn’t just one more band trying to make it. Formed in 1999, these talented young men from Montana ( lead singer Scott Brownson, bassist Josh Ogle, lead guitarist Joby Rudolph, guitarist Alex Hicks, and drummer Phillip Hicks) have rapidly built a loyal fan base with their unique sound that hearkens back to 1960s rock, but with an edgy tinge of present day alternative/modern. The group’s first single, “You Know” from its Freshman album Under Museum Quality Glass, debuted on the R&R Christian Rock Top 40 at #18 and soared to #7 spot on Air1’s charts.
Pivitplex’s latest album, The King in a Rookery, scheduled for release in July, is already garnering critical acclaim for its mature musical themes and a complexity reminiscent of some of the classic albums of the ’60s. “The King in a Rookery is an unbelievable alternative power-pop masterpiece,” writes music critic Tony Shore. “Pivitplex has delivered their answer to Sgt. Pepper’s and Pet Sounds.”
Still, Pivitplex is a band on the rise, and its members are taking nothing for granted. The new JCTV reality show offers Pivitplex an opportunity to connect with fans on a whole new level. “What we do is far from glamorous, but in every situation we’re driven to glorify God,” said Brownson. “And we’re ready to share those moments with our fans and JCTV viewers.”
The reality show actually began life as a documentary about an up and coming Christian rock band. Band friend and Montana independent filmmaker Clay Croft took to the road with Pivitplex for the “Will Play for Food” tour sponsored by Food for the Hungry.
But after Croft had filmed over 90 hours of band members interacting with fans, each other, and fellow Christian rockers Jonah 33 and Grand Prize, it was evident that what they had on their hands was a full-blown reality series that viewers would really enjoy. Croft pitched the series to JCTV, which places a priority on high-quality original programming, and the network jumped on the opportunity.

The true-life adventures highlighted in the show are comical, challenging, and rewarding – and always real and unscripted.”
