Verco launches workplace design developments Design Prima, London

The exhibition, (May 16-18th, Old Billingsgate, London EC3) showcases the launch of e-smart, the latest design to spin out of the company's successful v-smart seating brand.

v-smart scored a round of niche and volume applications in the SME, corporate and institutional markets.

It secured substantial interest at launch in 2002 for the deployment of an under-seat mechanism utilising simple spring technology and gravitational force enabling the chair to adapt to user body weight in order to provide requisite support and comfort in a truly dynamic posture.

Encouraged by the response, VERCO followed it swiftly with a further development in the 2-smart that successfully took the same principles to a broader audience in a simpler format at a lower price.

Fast forward to 2006, and latest entrant e-smart fuses the proven v-smart mechanism to a seat back design taken from the Ergoform, another success story for VERCO in the quest for optimum user support.

The Ergoform automatically supports the pelvic girdle and so prevents the rearward rotation of the pelvis leaving the spine remains in the more stress-neutral, lazy ‘S’ curvature, reducing pressure on the spinal musculature, ligaments and inter-vertebral discs and so providing longer-term comfort for chair users.

Winner of a FIRA Ergonomics Excellence Award, the chair has found favour with major corporate specifiers including British Telecom, Abbey, Barclays and Woolwich.

VERCO anticipates another coup in this hybrid of two proven, winning chair designs.

v-smart itself puts in an appearance at Design Prima with a further development in a new automatic seat lock, that, in keeping with the ethos that less is more, is tucked away from sight, leaving the supple lines of this design to continue to speak for itself.

Also new on show is a new task seating product. Pitched to the quality end of the mid-market, this chair again incorporates fully-synchronised adjustability and features a mesh seat back.

The combination of full functionality and voguish design is expected to see this design develop further market penetration for VERCO, which now fields the most extensive and comprehensive seating offers in the UK.

Stand C6 provides an opportunity for visitors to Design Prima to get up to date on recent seating launch, Profile and furniture programme, Oblique.

The Profile is another chair providing high-specification support to maintain requisite comfort for longer periods by the use of design criteria including increased pelvic rotational control together with posture seats and a choice of under-seat mechanisms.

Available with black or polished frames, Profile task chairs are complemented by a full family of visitor chairs, including cantilever, four-legged and mobile options, also ideally suited to conference use.

VERCO has developed further its share of the workplace furniture market with Oblique, offering fast-assembly free-standing desking for administration and executive areas, full system desking for the general office, in addition to the modern requirement for simple bench solutions.

Oblique is available in wood veneer (maple, walnut or cherry) with a stainless steel frame, and in MFC finish with a simple silver leg frame; both maintain the pure lines of this stylish furniture system.
