Cyr's winning photograph is on display at www.maine.gov. The next contest "celebrating the beauty and unique character of summer in Maine", according to the web site, is open to professional and amateur photographers.

"Being selected was a real honor," said the photographer, "Maine has been home my entire life and being able to share it's beauty with others is a privelege." "My goal is to show the world that the state of Maine is one of America's true treasures."

The picture "Spring Clouds", a Spring view of reflected clouds in a Washburn, ME pond won First Place in the Maine Inland and Mountain Scenes category. Cyr's focus is on Northern Maine scenic photography and covers an area from Mount Katahdin north to Aroostook County, and the St. John Valley where he and his wife Debra grew up.

Cyr's images, along with the other winning photos, are displayed on the Maine.gov home page. Clicking the "Spring Contest Winners" link allows visitors to view all the winning photographs.
