A former active-duty United States Marine and two-time combat veteran, Dr. Akins is also a certified life coach and graduate of the Life Purpose Institute. His professional credentials include Neuro Change Master Practitioner, Integrative Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Graduate, and Franklin Covey Leadership Journeyman. He is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
