NACTLI to Implement Leading Edge Assessment Strategy

April 02, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Boston, MA – April 2, 2006 – In the nascent coaching industry, innovations come from all directions, including technology. Turning Points CEO Mike Ballard announced a strategic partnership with New Agreements Coach Training and Leadership Institute (NACTLI) to provide Turning Points Navigator ™ online assessment technology to NACTLI coaches and students participating in its 6-Month Coach Coaching with Intent Certification Program.

Coaches come from a variety of perspectives. There are life coaches, career coaches, transition coaches and life planning coaches. High-powered CEOs and other “Masters of the Universe” have long employed executive coaches to help them maximize effectiveness and performance on the job. Upper-tier professionals in career transitions often hire career counselors on an hourly basis to hone their search strategy, but these days far more people employ coaches. Given an increasing demand, many are choosing coaching as a career and need training. National organizations such as Coachville, the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the Coach Training Institute (CTI) are churning out newly certified coaches by the month, providing online resources such as teleclasses and webinars to serve this growing sector of independent service providers.

Smaller training organizations, such as the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara, CA and the Integrative Institute in Boulder, CO are highly selective, and considered by some to be the elite coach training schools. Through the leadership of Joanne Dunleavy, NACTLI is rapidly expanding its reputation for innovation and cutting edge training methods – and establishing itself among that elite. As the buzz increases, many established coaches, business leaders and psychotherapists are adding and honing their skills at NACTLI certification programs.

A successful executive coach for the past 19 years, Dunleavy is well-known at Coachville and ICF as a key-note speaker and panel presenter of the popular “Six Figure Coaching” workshops. Her ability to consistently generate such incomes as a coach already places her in an elite group, and Joanne specializes in working with corporate CEOs attempting to transform dysfunctional organizations. “We are constantly looking for ways to innovate and maximize the effectiveness or our certification program.” said Dunleavy. “A masterful coach must be highly self-aware in order to serve their clients in a powerful way. Turning Points assessments allow our coaches to begin the individual preparation before, during, and after our weekends and teleclasses. This adds a significant value to their experience, and we believe it significantly accelerates their self-learning process.”

NACTLI typically holds one 6-Month program per year, and limits enrollment to a maximum of 30 participants. They are in the final stages of the third program, which will complete in May. NACTLI is currently accepting applications to participate in the next program, which begins in December of 2006.

About Turning Points

Turning Points is a family business founded by Jack and Phoebe Ballard (Mike’s parents) in the 1980’s. Its original mission was to serve retiring baby boomers through workshops and seminars. Two books and hundreds of students later, it was concluded that the need for transition management skills and tools exists across the spectrum of age, profession and careers. In late 2002, Mike took over management of the company and added the online assessments, which resulted in the new hybrid curriculum. A new edition of the Turning Points book is due to be released in early 2006.

Turning Points is based in Denver, CO and provides volume discounts and training programs for college Career Centers, professional Career Counselors, Human Resource managers, and Certified Executive and Life Coaches.
