Park City, UT - Hiring of IT professionals has increased - Janco responds with release of Platinum edition of IT Hiring Kit

Janco has found that IT hiring is on the upswing. In response to increased demand for its salary survey, job descriptions, and its "Internet and IT Position Description HandiGuide(r)" Janco has expanded its IT Hiring Kit with a Platinum Edition. The new edition includes: 2006 IT Salary Survey, 202 Internet and IT Job Descriptions in Word, and the "Internet and IT Position Description HandiGuide(r)" in PDF format. Janco has also added an update service for the new Platinum edition. With this addition to the IT Hiring Resource product line, Janco now offers 4 versions of the kit which range in price from $579 to $1,599.

Victor Janulaitis the CEO of Janco said, "There is a core set of tools that are required by enterprises of all sizes to attract, hire and retain IT professionals. Even firms that provide IT professionals on a contracting basis need these tools." He added, "… with the looming retirement of so many baby boomers and an increased competition for skilled IT professionals due to the recovering business cycle there is a need to have well defined compensation structures and job definitions — the Platinum edition provides the tools every human resource and IT function needs."

In commenting on the latest compensation trend, Janulaitis said "… enterprise based performance bonuses are still limited to executive IT management with only 38% of the executives qualifying. Stock options, which at the top of the dot com boom were the one "must have" benefit, now are only available to 29% of all IT professionals. The next update to Janco's Salary Survey will be in July.

Janco has captured IT compensation statistics since 1996 and publishes the resultant IT Salary Survey semiannually. The IT Salary survey is based on Janco Associates, Inc. IT professionals compensation database, and compensation benchmark ranges are established for each normalized job position. In analyzing the study data, the upper and lower quartiles are eliminated to determine benchmark ranges. The benchmark ranges are then used to assess the alignment of a company's actual compensation to the marketplace for each job function.
