Archbishop Gary Beaver spoke from his office on Boxing Day as members of the Interdenominational church and the OSMTH (Magistral Grand Priory of the Holy Lands) International charity commenced their urgent appeal.

The Primatial See stated: "The priority for the Interdenominational Church and all the brothers and sisters of the Independent Old Catholic fellowship is to get relief supplies into the region as quickly as possible and to support teams of disaster response experts in order to aid the volunteers and staff already working in the affected countries."

Tragedy and suffering transcend all human barriers. As the confirmed death toll rises and the extent of devastation increases, the funds needed for ongoing relief and rehabilitation will rise.

The world must pray for the victims of this natural disaster, and for survivors who have been left without family and without a home.

Archbishop Gary Beaver thanked the international community for rushing help to the survivors, and has urged everyone to participate in the continuing relief effort.

Let us pray for the victims of this tremendous tragedy, may they find consolation in their faith and love even in the midst of great trials and sufferings.

"Those who would like to contribute to the Interdenominational Church and OSMTH efforts with a gesture of solidarity toward our unfortunate Asian brothers and sisters can do so by making a donation via the appeal webpage: http://www.ordotempli.org/asia_tsunami_appeal.htm
