The open day, held on March 30th, was the ideal opportunity for Bling My Thing to showcase some of the unique, handcrafted crystallised items which have helped make them the leading company in Europe in the field of "blinging" – the art of adding crystals to everyday items to make them shine!

Some of those items, including colourful and fun Bluetooth headsets, mobile phones, X-box faceplates and business card holders are also now available o buy online, from the company's recently-launched online store.

"Bling My Thing offers a broad range of products to serve the whole spectrum of fashion-savvy customers," explains Chief Designer Ayano Kimura. "And if people would like to try blinging for themselves, we also sell DIY kits for as little as 69 euros."

Bling My Thing have also been in talks with mobile phone giants such as Phone House (a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse), and are adding to their product line all the time.

"We recently completed a crystallised piggy bank, which would make a fabulous and unique gift," says Ayano, "and our new crystallised headphones would be fantastic for DJs or producers. They're so glamorous and eye-catching!"

You don't have to be a DJ to enjoy a little bit of bling, though. While the art of "blinging" (adding crystal designs to objects) is very popular amongst Hollywood celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Sarah Jessica Parker and Lindsay Lohan, it's also popular with ordinary people too, who choose Bling My Thing for their professional craftsmanship and attention to detail – and, of course, those wonderful Swarovski crystals.

"Each of our items are crystallised by hand, by a professional designer," explains Ayano, "and we use only the highest quality crystals, in the smallest sizes around, to create very intricate, detailed designs. We spend a great deal of time getting each item right, and I'm sure that's why our customers are so loyal to us!"

To prove their professional craftsmanship, Ayano has just crystallised the complete Xbox360 with Lara Croft design, which is covered with over 40,000 crystals. “What we create is more than just fashion jewellery: we are crystal artists,” she says. “This is how we are different from other companies who provide crystal customisation services”.

In May Bling My Thing will launch a new service, providing crystal portraits. “Send us a photo of your loved one, and we will create a beautiful crystal portrait for you," Ayano revealls. "These would make the perfect gift for someone special, and that's not restricted to humans – we also offer a pet portrait especially for animal lovers!"
