Door Guard Inc. Introduces Tougher, Temporary Elevator Door Protection and Temporary Wall Protection for Building Interiors –
(
PRLEAP.COM) Pittsburgh PA - Door Guard Inc. of Pittsburgh, PA, introduced an improved temporary elevator door protection liner laminated with a tough acrylic/PVC sheeting at the National Facility Management & Technology Show in March in Baltimore, MD.
Briane Hartley, President of Door Guard Inc. said, “Customers asked for a tougher version of our unique, patented system to temporarily protect elevator entryways and yet compliment a broader range in building decor. Facility managers and building owners at the show really liked the upgrade in temporary elevator protection. Frankly it was a real hit, over 230 attendees visited our booth.” Hartley said, “We went the route of laminates because it offers a significant improvement in functional performance and provides a broader range of distinctive colors and patterns already used in elevator cab and building interiors.”
Door Guard will now match the color selected for a Door Liner with its flame retardant coating used in its elevator Cab Liners. Hartley said, “Our original product concept was to provide the industry an easy way to temporarily convert a passenger elevator to a freight elevator. Customers wanted a functionally tougher product yet look really good in any Class A office building.” The new product line uses KOROGARD® laminates by Decorative Surfaces of Grand Rapids, MI, and will be available in seven distinctive colors to compliment most any building interior. Custom colors and patterns are also available.
Door Guard also introduced “Wall Guard” - another innovative product to temporarily protect any building interior wall during tenant moves or construction projects. “Again, it was a natural extension of our product line to provide temporary protection to attractive office buildings and condominiums during those times every property manager dreads,” Hartley said. “Everyone has used the thin, rolled, Kraft paper taped to an interior wall, knowing it is not enough protection to prevent wall damage. Or watched the ragged-looking Masonite® sheeting installed by commercial movers while hoping for a weekend tenant move so that existing tenants never see it. Now the building owner, facility manager, commercial mover and contractor has a first-class, durable yet economical option to temporarily protect interior walls.
“We partnered with 3M to find a way to temporarily adhere Wall Guard to any building interior surface without leaving any mark or residual. 3M urged us to use their new Command adhesive strips. It was a natural fit for our application”, he said.
