PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com was started in 2004 after its founder, Lee Gibson, tried unsuccessfully to sell her own designer wedding dress. She decided to create a better way to buy and sell wedding dresses and created a site that caters to both buyers and sellers.

For buyers, gowns are listed by size, making them easier to browse. Each gown is featured with complete information including important details like preservation method and year purchased.

For sellers, there is no commission charged on the sale, and no limit to the amount of description that can be included with the dress. Listings do not expire for 12 months, or until the gown has sold.
