A special ‘Legends’ series commemorates the all time Greats associated with individual clubs and stadiums, all individually signed by their legendary players - Manchester United at Old Trafford includes Nobby Stiles and Dennis Law, Liverpool FC at Anfield includes Ray Clemence, Ian Rush and Emlyn Hughes, Scotland’s Celtic Park Club features 28 signatures including Billy McNeil.

Back South, Leeds United Elland Road signatories include Jack Charlton and Gordon McQueen and Maine Road includes Manchester City’s Francis Lee and Joe Royle. A leading favourite is ‘England’s Football Greats’, signing players including Gordon Banks, Geoff Hurst, Kevin Keegan and Ray Clemence.

Top favourite with the Gallery’s, Directors, Ray and Sonia, is England ‘World Cup Winners 1966’ signed by the whole winning squad -an unforgettable day!

Complementing these are key limited edition prints from Mackenzie Thorpe’s evocative ‘Game of Life’ series a commentary on life growing up in the North East and strongly focussed on Sunderland FC then playing at Roker Park and now at the Stadium of Light. Demand for the highly sought after titles including ‘The Boy Who Did Not Get a Ticket’ and ‘The Big Match’ rather after the style of L S Lowry, is expected to soar with the opening for the World Cup of an exhibition of previously unseen originals only football pictures at Mackenzie’s Gallery in Richmond Yorkshire.

Also in the style of Lowry is Rolf Harris’s tribute picture ‘Coming from the Mill’ and featured in the ‘Rolf on Art’ BBC TV series. Articulate Fine Art is selling on behalf of a client, this, and fine early low number editions of Rolf Harris prints including ‘Blue Gums’, ‘Raining on the Rock’ ‘Greek Whitewasher’, ‘The Last Rays’, ‘Fishing Boats – Hydra’, ‘Dawn Over the River’ as well as the sought after key images ‘Barges at Westminster’, ‘Camels at the Taj Mahal’ and ‘As Time Goes By’ from the 2003 collection.

“We have exceptional quality and genuine availability of all that we list “, commented Sonia. The same applies to pictures by David Shepherd, especially the low edition silk-screens (all 350 edition or less) the very first of which was the absolutely stunning ‘Cheetahs’. Other exceptional silk-screens include ‘Indian Summer’ (tigers) and the iconic ‘Last Refuge’ (Giant Panda). The most sought after however remains ‘Ahmed’ an edition of only 65 to celebrate David’s 65th birthday. It was the one we all missed out on!

Other artists attracting particular interest on the Articulate web-site include Jonathan Truss, Gerald Coulson Beryl Cook and Duncan Palmer.

We will shortly be offering a private collection of wildlife prints by the late Simon Coombes, an impressive collection of prints by J C G Illingworth, and Alexander Millar.

A new addition will be the Wildlife Pencil Art of David Dancey –Wood, a long collected favourite with the Directors.
