Computer support and technology news RSS feed launched

April 15, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
Century Computing Support Services have just launched a new (http://ppc.centurycomputing.co.uk/computersupport.rss) RSS feed which not only provides links to all of the technology stories included in their monthly newsletter but also up to date opinion pieces and responses to the issues that really rock the IT sector.

Rob Green Managing Director of Century Computing, commented that ”the RSS feed provides instant gratification for those who need ‘news when it happens’ and want to be the first to know what is going on in the sector.”

Very few IT companies currently provide an RSS feed, which is surprising given the ubiquity of the technology across the sector. However with the release of the Firefox browser, Gmail, MyYahoo! and MyMSN which all include RSS readers, and the impending release of Internet Explorer 7.0 the consumption of RSS is set to explode.

The IT support company is committed to walking the walk as well as talking the talk when it comes to the adoption of technology. All of the engineers and senior staff have Blackberry email devices ensuring they are constantly in contact with the office, and the sales team are additionally equipped with laptops and Vodaphone 3G wireless cards, allowing them to access web based resources and the office network even when a physical Internet connection is not available. All of the senior staff also have access to their desktop computers via the Century Citrix Web access solution, which means that they can access important files, software and emails from any PC or Apple Mac as long as it has an Internet connection, without downloading any software, and using two factor authentication (Vasco Tokens) it is inherently secure.
