Husband Tricked Into Successful Dieting By Crafty Wife

(PRLEAP.COM) The latest polls on how people diet, show that most overweight people do not have the motivation to join a weight loss program and have some stranger weighing them in every week. However, those who do join will have to search hard to find a man in the group.

According to Helen Robinson publisher of healthy-cooking.ideatreasury.com, this is her favorite ‘husband’ story. Helen had stopped smoking, replaced cigarettes with food and put on 40 lbs. and decided it was time to do something about it. She asked her 241 lb. husband to join a weight loss group with her but, as expected, he said “I’m fine, you go and have a good time.”

“While at the meeting, I noticed some cookbooks for sale. I bought one that looked interesting and made up my mind to change my cooking habits. I was so excited about my new motivation and after running on and on about weigh-ins, fellow fat people & dieting, I realized that Chubby Hubby wanted no conversation about my losing weight. The more I lost the less he wanted to hear.” Definitely Jealousy!

However, Helen said, “This is not about me.” She started using these quick and easy recipes, nothing that tasted or sounded like diet foods. On the menu each night were foods like Creamy Broccoli-Topped Pasta, Chicken with Creamy Mustard Sauce, and Soups such as Cauliflower au Gratin, Vegetable-Cheddar Soup. Her husband raved about the tasty meals and of course there was no clue of a diet but after a few weeks she noticed he seemed worried about something. He said in a very serious manner, “I think there’s something terribly wrong with me. I’ve been losing a lot of weight and I don’t know why.” Helen said, “After I cruelly stopped laughing I explained that he was losing weight because those delicious meals were so much lower in fat and calories. The portions of the high caloric foods are smaller but your plate has so many wonderfully seasoned vegetables you never felt hungry or appreciated how much better you were eating.”

“Needless to say we were both relieved that he was not dying and we went on to lose our extra weight and have kept it off!”
