Music Oxygen Announces Call for 1,500 Music Artists, Bands, and Songwriters for Song Sharing Feature

New York, New York – The exciting new features offered will allow members to upload MP3 files and share them through a free streaming service on personal, blogging, and social networking sites. Artists with MP3s and photos are encouraged to participate in the beta testing of its new song sharing features before its June 1 public debut.

Artists can sign up from the Music Oxygen home page and enter their band name, upload photos, and get an artist profile page on the Music Oxygen site. The profile page allows other site visitors to get more information about the artist and listen to their songs. The major benefit of the finalized version is free promotion of music on a music network that serves music downloads, interviews, and free music videos to a wide audience of over 10,000 visitors a day.

Music Oxygen’s song sharing feature, now in beta testing, is expected to expose a wide array of songs in genres ranging from Heavy Metal to Electronic Music and Hip Hop. Edward Smith, vice president of marketing for Music Oxygen, said, “Music is being heard in more places faster than ever especially in mobile markets. Now that we have different ways to get music heard, it’s time to focus on the selection process so more quality and radio-ready music can be heard – regardless of who it’s from.”
Prompted by the increases in the popularity of blogging and social networking sites, a part of the new features will allow the benefits of Music Oxygen’s music without actually being on the Music Oxygen site. Beginning today, any major, independent, unsigned, band or artist can submit original songs for the beta testing program. To protect music copyrights and publishing, only songs that are marked for download by an artist will be available for download by listeners and fans. Music Oxygen community of listeners and fans can preview artist profile pages and send private messages, add artists as friends, add comments, and look at artist photo galleries. With 1,500 or more artists, beta testing will serve as a factor to fine-tune usability of the new features and test the integrity of servers and hardware.
