UAppoint Announces Dental Patient Scheduling Service

Palo Alto, California —UAppoint today announced a new service for dental practices that automatically emails appointment confirmations and reminder notices to their patients. The secure service, which integrates with existing practice management software packages, is designed to help office personnel focus on patient care rather than mundane administrative tasks.
"More than ever before, patients are wired and on the go, increasingly using online as well as wireless means to communicate. Trying to reach patients to confirm and remind them of appointments and handle scheduling-related requests and inquiries is a time-consuming task for the office staff,' said Doron Sherman, UAppoint's CEO.
UAppoint provides the following features based on rules set by the dental practice:
• Confirmation. Whenever an appointment is scheduled in the practice management software, UAppoint sends a confirmation email to the patient that includes all relevant appointment details.
• Reminders. Prior to an upcoming appointment, UAppoint sends the patient an email or a short text message to remind them of their commitment time.
• Scheduling. Both confirmation and reminder emails include a link that enables the patient to reschedule their appointment online if necessary.
"When we began using the service several years ago, our patients were delighted by the high-tech capabilities of our practice and the convenience of online communication. At the same time, our front desk staff was relieved of mundane tasks, and they were able to better serve patients on a personal basis,' said Dr. Dov Glazer, D.D.S., co-founder of the company and first user of UAppoint. The service complements and works seamlessly with popular practice management software packages, such as Dentrix, Easy Dental, PracticeWorks, SoftDent, and EagleSoft.
Pricing and Availability
UAppoint will be available on a subscription basis at a basic cost of $99/month for automated delivery of appointment confirmations and reminders to patients over email. Early access to the service is planned for the first quarter of 2005.
