April 21, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
MTD Systems announced today that WABC-TV joins WLS-TV in using MTD Systems to monitor their News NLE/Server systems.

MTD Systems is pleased to be involved with WABC and WLS helping insure performance from key equipment. In both systems, MTD Sentry monitors more than 100 separate devices consisting of PCs, video servers, Ethernet and Fibre Channel switches, raids, etc. from various manufacturers. More than 5000 parameters are collected and trended. The system watches scores of equipment logs for trouble, it collects SNMP data and traps, watches PC event logs, and more. The MTD System has been in operation at WLS for more than two years.

"Imagine going to each piece of equipment in the system and checking thousands of lines of log files, connectivity, processor use, memory use, and general system health every few minutes, that is the function of MTD Sentry," said Dave Tansek CEO of MTD Systems. "The bottom line is early alerting to potentially catastrophic conditions can keep on-air disruption and transmission losses from occurring."
