Appliedlanguage.com honoured in the Internet Ocsars

Translation agency Applied Language Solutions website www.appliedlanguage.com has been honoured in the 10th Annual Webby Awards. The site has been awarded Official Honouree status by the board of judges which includes David Bowie, Internet inventor Vinton Cerf, Naked Chef Jamie Oliver, The Body Shop president Anita Roddick, fashion designer Max Azria, "Simpsons" creator Matt Groening and Real Networks CEO Rob Glaser.

The 10th Annual Webby Awards received over 5,500 entries from over 40 countries worldwide. The Honouree award is only given to the top 20% of all the entrants.

Richard Michie, Marketing Manager for Applied Language said “This is a great achievement for all the team who helped to put the site together. It’s especially satisfying when you take a look at all the other websites who have been honoured; there are some really big names who have far bigger teams and resources than we have. This award is a testament to all the team who’ve worked so hard on the site, especially the Bulgarian team of programmers and designers: Lilia, Hristo, Stanislav and Tsvetomir. Without them this could never have been achieved.”

The site is built to be a one-stop-shop for all translation needs whether you need a simple sentence translating for free, add translation to your website or you need a professional translation by one of their 5,000 in-country translators. The site also contains details of every country in the world including maps, flags, dialing codes and a million and one things you didn’t know you needed.

The board of judges select sites for recognition based on excellence in: content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity and overall experience.

The pedigree of the previous winners of Webby Awards can’t be questioned. Previous sites to be recognised are Amazon.com, eBay, Yahoo!, iTunes, Google, FedEx, BBC News, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, Salon Magazine, Evite, Meetup, Wikipedia, ESPN, Comedy Central, PBS, and The Onion.
