Atlanta, GA (April 22, 2006) Spectacular art, chic fashion, and good music collide at the next Renaissance: An Urban Revival. This installment is a celebration of what the month of April is truly about; fashion. As Fashion Week takes hold of the runways of New York, London and Paris, the new Mecca for Urban Fashion, Atlanta, Georgia will also prepare herself to serve host to the toast of Atlanta’s fashion scene on April 23, 2006 beginning at 5pm at Cherry, 1051 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA.

The event will be bringing you Atlanta’s most innovative designers, in jewelry, denim, and kicks live on the runway. They will include styles by Love Your Wool, Pieces of Adrene, Bombay Gal, Felix Meunon, Chilly-O, and more. Renaissance is produced quarterly by The Renaissance Project, an artistic and entrepreneurial team, who takes prides in providing a plateau to showcase the talent of local, underground, and independent artists, models, musicians, and designers.

Carlton Hargro, Assistant Arts & Entertainment Editor, Creative Loafing and host of Audiofloss.com says, “The eclectic art/music/culture movement in Atlanta is growing by leaps and bounds, and The Renaissance: An Urban Revival is poised to be yet another significant event of progressive progression. It’s not to be missed.”

The event will begin with a business reception and gallery viewing, followed by a “Live Artistic Interaction Hour” (spoken word, candid photography, and live music) before moving towards the main event, the Spring 2006 unveiling of independent Atlanta’s latest contributions to style, clothing, and couture.

All artwork and clothing on display will be available for purchase, and the event will feature exclusive fashion, accessories, shoes, and more that you will find nowhere else. Renaissance puts a distinct focus on the art and culture that has been influenced by the generation raised along side the hip-hop movement. It is imperative we celebrate this new breed of creativity by giving honor to the art inspired by urbanites through uniting some of our most imaginative passions in the areas of style and creative expression.
