Boston Stock Exchange and NASD Veteran Provides Legal Counsel, Experience

[Boston] Cantella & Co., Inc. is pleased to announce that George W. Mann Jr. has joined the firm as Chief Legal Counsel. He brings with him over 30 years of securities industry experience with an emphasis on regulatory and compliance matters.

Prior to joining the 54-year-old broker-dealer, Mann spent 19 years at the Boston Stock Exchange as Executive Vice President/General Counsel before leaving to join Cantella & Co., Inc. Previously, he spent 15 years with the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD) serving as Director for the Cleveland, Ohio District Office, working his way up from Examiner/Staff Supervisor to Assistant Director of the Boston, MA District Office and then District Director.

Mann, among other things, will serve as a liaison between Cantella & Co., Inc., and the regulatory authorities as well as interact with its nationwide force of representatives. He is thoroughly experienced in providing legal advice to senior management including responsibilities for regulatory, surveillance, compliance and enforcement matters.

Mann, a New England native and Red Sox fan, began his career as an accountant with Alexander Grant & Co., after graduating from Bentley College. He later entered law school, earning a Juris Doctor degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law. He lives in Milton, MA with his wife Kathleen.
